For a brief moment I actually got excited about this rejection. I know sounds crazy huh…
Aside from the rejection response that I received for rejection #3 I didn’t think that I was even going to get a response from the other agencies I sent my book to; because it wasn’t mentioned on any of their websites.
So when I actually did get a response email I was about ready to do a backflip, until I opened the email.
Another rejected form letter, but that’s alright I’ve still got two more in the fire and maybe one of them will be the lucky one.
I hope, I hope, I hope.

Keep plugging away there with marketing your book. It’s a crap shoot. My memoir has many many rejections but my short story collection Beyond the Tripping Point by serendipity – first time lucky.
Cheers.
Thank you and I guess you were very lucky with the short story.
Wish I could’ve been that fortunate, but oh well.
Wahoo! Good luck!
Thanks
All the very best!
Thank you I appreciate it.
Good luck x
Thank you
It seems to be part of the game. Keep pushing, you’ll get there!
Yeah that’s what I’m figuring out for myself and thanks and I will keep pushing.
Good luck with the next two, fingers crossed.
Thank you mine are too
Keep going! One of these letters will be golden.
Thank you
Good luck. Just going through the process means you are well on your way.
Thanks I’ll keep that in mind.
Good luck! And don’t worry, I’ve got a binder full if rejection letters. With each rejection you’re that much closer to the acceptance letter.
Thanks that’s good way to look at those rejections.
I think I already told you about my friend Karen Joy Fowler…33 rejections before her first novel got published and nominated for three or four awards…now she’s a millionaire, thanks to subsidiary rights from The Jane Austen Book Club. She is the queen of never say die, now. Good luck !
Later…
Yes you did tell me that story, but it’s a good reminder thanks
I hope you will hear good news soon!
Ditto
When they reject – they acknowledge your work. Worse if they ignore, I reckon.
And with every rejection, you are closer to acceptance
Yeah that’s true thanks
I’d love to get a rejection letter. it would mean that I actually wrote an entire book! Congrats and keep trying
Thank you and I will
I think it’s terrific that you’re getting your work out there. Rejection goes with the job description, but the time will come.
Thank you
You can do this, I know you will get recognition because i know lots of stuff. You could always arrange some sort of mass demonstration outside these book peoples headquarters and demand a fair go. If i had the money, I would join thee.
Aww thank you and maybe that could be something that I could do, but knowing my luck they’d probably call the cops.
Then you call the TV and get your name on the news. You’ll go viral on the ‘net and be a bestseller in weeks!
Hmm now that’s a thought.
Good idea
Don’t give up…. Did you know that fashion photographers take several hundred photos on a photo shoot and hope to get at least 10 that work for them… Blessings and just keep trying…. research all the great authors that got rejections 9Lots of them) before they self published or finally got someone to take a chance on them… Trust me… there are some major ones, I just can’t think at the moment
Hmm well I guess I’ll be able to hold on there thanks for sharing
Hey Chelsea-
A file of rejection letters lurks in my cabinet. Some proved useful, others not so much. I’ve also published novel length fiction, short stories, essays, and a newspaper column. Still don’t have as many letters as friend & NYT bestseller Susan Wiggs, who papered an entire bathroom with hers.
So chin up, learn from the letters that offer specificity and file the rest for your next bathroom remodel :~>.
Thanks I will and wow papering an entire bathroom with rejection letters… Whoa
If the publisher keep rejecting you should look into self-publishing. Cratespace.com, and Lulu.com are probably the best for that. But self publishing your required to do all the formatting. Book cover, interior of you book. If you want to spend some money they have services that can help you. The first Harry potter I thank was self published.
I’ve been thinking about that, but Idk I think I’ll have to do some researching first.
